Folded Textured Copper With Brown Enamel Patina Drop Earrings Argentium Silver Hooks

These copper enameled drop earrings are lovely! The hand formed elbow hooks are made from 22 gauge Argentium silver. The golden brown enameled area is made from 24 gauge folded copper sheeting. They have been torch fired and the patina has been left behind. The drop from the "elbow" is 42mm. The width across the enameled portion is 30mm. Additional information on Argentium silver: Argentium Silver was invented by Master Silversmith, Peter Johns at Middlesex University, London. His initial research concentrated on eliminating firestain in traditional Sterling silver, using the element Germanium. Germanium was also found to add further benefits, including tarnish resistance and heat-hardening properties. Argentium is a sterling silver alloy that is 1% purer than traditional sterling at 93.5%. (Traditional sterling is 92.5% pure.)
