This handmade Argentium Silver and copper "Buttes" pendant with necklace was inspired by my love for the mountains and landscapes. The pendant itself is made from 24 gauge Argentium silver that has been carefully sweat soldered to 26 gauge copper mountains. Two copper rivets have been punched to accommodate a 19 inch, silver-colored link chain with a lobster claw style clasp. The chain is made from a nickle-free alloy. The pendant is a lovely silver color with copper mountains. The pendant may tarnish over time. The chain is sourced from another local (Tempe, AZ) artisan. It should not tarnish. The overall width of the pendant is 39mm at the widest point. The height is 12mm. The chain and pendant are a total of 19 inches round. Please ask any questions you might have prior to purchase. The item in the photos is the item you will receive. Remember, you are purchasing a handcrafted item that has quirks, very much like people. No two pieces will be the same and you will find perfectly wonderful imperfections that make your piece unique! All items come in a gift box. Additional information on Argentium silver: Argentium Silver was invented by Master Silversmith, Peter Johns at Middlesex University, London. His initial research concentrated on eliminating firestain in traditional Sterling silver, using the element Germanium. Germanium was also found to add further benefits, including tarnish resistance and heat-hardening properties. Argentium is a sterling silver alloy that is 1% purer than traditional sterling at 93.5%. (Traditional sterling is 92.5% pure.) It contains the metalloid germanium that gives Argentium silver more workable qualities than sterling, including: Firescale elimination High tarnish resistance Precipitation hardening and simple heat-hardening properties Increased ductility Increased thermal and electrical resistance (making alloys suitable for welding and laser forming) Environmental advantages (associated with not having to remove or plate over firescale)
